Preface


This guide explains how to install the hardware and initially configure the software on your GT 60 Series router.

Audience

This guide is for anyone who installs GT 60 Series routers. If you are unfamiliar with computer networking, you may need the support of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or a network administrator.

Packing List

Before you install your router, check that you received the following:

To connect your router to the Internet or to any other Wide Area Network (WAN), you need a WAN cable. This is a separately ordered item that you purchase from an OpenROUTE Networks supplier. For a list of available cables, see Connecting Your Router to a Wide Area Network (WAN) on page 10.

Document Conventions

This guide uses the following typeface conventions:

Bold

Used for commands and user input. For example:

Use the help command to display help about the Command Line Interface.

Clear statistics? (Yes or No): yes

Courier font

Used for screen displays. For example:

BOOT information

Italics

Used for emphasis. For example:

Do not answer Yes.

Small Caps

Used for keys that you press on your keyboard. For example:

Press Enter to go to the Config> prompt
