- Description:
- An IP datagram has been originated by one of the router's

- Level:

- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.017 Received IGMP Host Membership Query, IP_source
-> IP_destination
max_rsp= max_response_time
group= multicast_group
net network ID
- Description:
- An IGMP Host Membership Query has been received.
An IGMPv1 Query has max_response_time set to 0;
Otherwise, it is an IGMPv2 Query. A general query has
the multicast group set to 0.0.0.0; a specific query has
the value of the specific multicast group.
- Level:

- Short Syntax:
- MSPF.018 Querier= querier_IP_address
ifc= IP_interface
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.018 Querier= querier_IP_address
ifc= IP_interface
nt network ID
- Description:
- The querier on the interface has changed.
The IP address of the new Querier router is displayed.
For IGMPv2, the querier is the router with the lowest
IP address. For IGMPv1, the higher level multicast protocol,
such as MOSPF, determines the querier.
- Level:
- UE-ERROR
- Short Syntax:
- MSPF.019 Unexpected IGMP Query from IP_source
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.019 Unexpected IGMP Query from IP_source
net network ID
- Description:
- This router considers itself as the Querier, so receiving
a Query from another router is unexpected.
- Cause:
- A few of these messages coould be normal in the process of determining
which router is the Querier. As long as the situation does not
persist, there is no problem.
- Action:
- None
- Cause:
- The other router is running IGMPv1 and thus does not adhere to the
the IGMPv2 querier election rules. Both routers will continue
to each be queriers.
- Action:
- None. Unless there is a problem.
It should not hurt, functionally, to have multiple Queriers;
there is, of course, a small waste of bandwidth for the
each duplicated IGMP message.
- Action:
- Upgrade the other router to IGMPv2 at your convenience.
- Action:
- Alternatively, you may also configure this interface to
run in IGMPv1 mode.
- Level:

grp= multicast_group
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.020 IGMPv2 LEAVE accepted IP_source
-> IP_destination
group= multicast_group
net network ID
- Description:
- An IGMPv2 LEAVE for a multicast group has been received on
the specified interface and the IGMPv2 LEAVE processing
has been initiated.
- Level:

- MSPF.021 Received IGMP Host Membership Report IP_source

has been received on the specified interface.

- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.022 Received IGMP Host Membership Report IP_source

- Description:

has been received on the specified interface.
- Level:

, src= IP_source
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.023 Received bad IGMP type igmp_pkt_type
, src= IP_source
net network ID
- Description:
- An IGMP message has been received having an unrecognized type
field. The message is discarded.
- Cause:
- The source IP machine is using a newer version of IGMP
containing packet types that this router does not support.
- Action:
- None if there are no problems; otherwise call customer service.
- Level:
- UE-ERROR
- Short Syntax:
- MSPF.024 Unexp IGMPv2 Report IP_source
-> IP_destination
grp= multicast_group
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.024 Unexpected IGMPv2 Membership Report IP_source
-> IP_destination
group= multicast_group
net network ID
- Description:
- An IGMPv2 Host Membership Report for a multicast group
has been received on the specified interface, but this router
is running IGMPv1. The message is discarded.
- Cause:
- If this persists, this is an IGMP interoperability problem.
An IGMPv2 host is not supposed to send an IGMPv2 report if
it is aware that an IGMPv1 router exists.
It is supposed to send an IGMPv1 report instead.
- Action:
- Fix the sending host; it has a IGMP bug.
- Action:
- Alternatively, reconfigure to run IGMPv2 on this interface,
which is the default.
- Level:
- P-TRACE
- Short Syntax:
- MSPF.025 IGMPv2 LEAVE ign rsn= IP_source

grp= multicast_group
nt network ID
- Long Syntax:
- MSPF.025 IGMPv2 LEAVE ignored reason= IP_source
reaason
-> IP_destination
group= multicast_group
net network ID
- Description:
- An IGMPv2 LEAVE for a multicast group has been received, but
ingored on the specified interface. The reason why the
Leave is ignored is given.
- Cause:
- The possible reasons are: (1) "in v1 mode", this interface
is configured for IGMPv1 mode, (2) "not querier", this
interface is not the IGMP querier, (3) "unknown group",
the group is not in the router's database, (4) "already leaving",
the router is already in the LEAVE processing logic,
(5) "cfgd to never process", the interface is
hard-configured to not process LEAVEs, (6) "v1 hosts present",
there are V1 hosts present in the group.
- Action:
- None, unless you wanted LEAVE processing.
- Action:
- If you wanted LEAVE processing, make sure the interface is
not configured to never do LEAVE processing.
Alos be sure there are no IGMPv1 hosts on the network.
If there are V1 hosts and you still want LEAVE processing,
configure LEAVE processing to always be on, but this is not
normal.
